BOSINGWA MAKES ROLLERCOASTER LIST

Former Chelsea defender Jose Bosingwa has been named on the list of five players who had rollercoaster careers. The list was compiled by media portal FourFourTwo. The ex-Portuguese international fullback made the list with others like Victor Valdes, Rio Ferdinand, Ibrahim Afellay and Nicky Butt.

Ex-Spanish national team shot stopper Victor Valdes won virtually everything during his time at the Nou Camp. He was a key member of the Barcelona squad that won three Champions League titles in the space of five seasons. The shot stopper won the Champions League title at Barcelona in 2006, 2007 and 2009 before later suffering relegation from the Premier League with Middlesbroughthree years ago (2017).

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand also made the list after winning the Champions League title with the Red Devils in 2008. He then suffered Premier League relegation with Queens Park Rangers (QPR) in 2015. Ibrahim Afellay played for Stoke City in the Premier League before suffered relegation from the top flight in 2018. The ex-Dutch international had won the Champions League title with Barcelona in 2011 after the Blaugrana saw off Manchester United at the Wembley Stadium.

The four players previously mentioned never had a swift rollercoaster like Jose Bosingwa who was in the Chelsea team that stunned German Bundesliga club Bayern Munich in the 2012 Champions League final. Buoyed by the presence of Ivorian international Didier Drogba, the Blues were able to win the Champions League title for that season at the expense of hosts Bayern Munich.

The Bavarian giants lost on penalties to Chelsea who won the Champions League title for the first time in their history. The two teams had scored one goal each at the end of both regulation time and extra time. Jose Bosingwa would go on to join London rivals Queens Park Rangers for the following season and that ended in relegation from the Premier League at the end of the 2012/13 season.
